The KREWE OF ELDERS is a Mardi Gras non-profit organization for Senior Citizens 50 and older. The Krewe was formed in 1998. The Krewe’s function is to help those on fixed incomes to be a part of the fun and excitement that Mardi Gras brings to our area. The Krewe of Elders volunteer during the Mardi Gras season visit the Nursing Homes, Childrens Hospitals, Veterans, and other organizations to bring Mardi Gras to bring a little happiness to the less fortunates. The Krewe at this time have more than 220 members and we are growing. For the people who are young at heart and just want to have some fun, this is really a great organization for you to get in. We have a lot of fun having fund raisers with fish frys, barbecues and dances. Our big events are The Coronation, The Grand Ball and the Parade. “It really is Nifty to be Fifty!” So come on out and join our Krewe. Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler! (Let the good times roll!)
